Department of Humanities & Applied Sciences
It has well equipped Physics, Chemistry, and Language laboratory.
Through the basic courses the students are given fundamental knowledge
which makes them able to understand and follow the engineering courses.
Language Laboratory
The establishment of a language learning laboratory is a major
achievement of the department. It is well equipped with 32 workstations
for students which are inter connected and monitored simultaneously
by the instructor. Its primary purpose is to ensure that computers
at the instructions of the teacher may enhance the educational benefits
associated with less room based learning activities, namely shared
experiences, teamwork and interaction with one's pear. The Lab also
encourages inter-active sessions with the aim of developing the
speaking and listening skills. It provides an exposure to correct
pronunciation and super segmental features of English language,
that is stress, intonation and pause. Its activities also include
listening to conversation in different situations, grammar drills
and vocabulary building exercises. Personality Development classes
are held in the Language Laboratory which enhances the following
soft skills of the students -

Chemistry Lab
The Chemistry laboratory has been well equipped with sophisticated
apparatus like Spectrophotometer and Digital pH meter. The most
of the faculties have a number of publications in National and International
Journals and have done national training programmes/Seminares/Conferences
and while some of them have the experience of working in the industries.
The department has a number of distinguished and eminent faculty
members to strengthen the academic environment with their wide and
rich experience.
Physics Lab
This prime Physics lab is well equipped with sophisticated apparatus
i.e. Spectrometer, Polarimeter, Fresnel's Bi-prism, Ballistic Constant,
Nodal Slide, Newton's Ring etc. (In dark's room lab.- experiments),
Hall effect assembly, Potentiometer, Four Probe method, B-H Curve,
Stefan's Law, Stewart Gee's , Carey- Foster's Bridge etc.(In general
lab-experiments). Most of the faculties have a number of publications
in National and International Journals and Magazines and have done
national training programmes/Seminares/Conferences and also some
of them have supervised Ph.D. works (Thesis). Also this department
has a number of distinguished and eminent faculty members to strengthen
the academic environment with their decades of experience and distinguished
works.

The deptt. has six computer labs with the total of 437 systems
in the college and all the necessary software is available for the
students. The center opens even in the off the working hours. Internet
facility is also available round the clock.

SPORTS & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
First Inter College Tournament 2005, Zone-3 was organized at Anand
Engineering College, Agra from 2nd April to 9th April 2005. The
Zone-3 Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow consists of 38
colleges of Engineering & Management Agra, Mathura, Aligarh
and G. B. Nagar (Noida) Districts. This type of tournament was organized
for the first time in the Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow.
Total events in this tournament were eight:-
1. Football (Boys)
2. Basketball (Boys)
3. Volleyball (Boys)
4. Table Tennis (Boys)
5. Basketball (Girls)
6. Volleyball (Girls)
7. Table Tennis (Girls)
8. Kho-kho (Girls)
The tournament was inaugurated by Shri Alok Prasad, District Inspector
General of Police, Agra-Region, Agra on 2nd April 2005. The total
no. of students participants were 353 from different colleges.
The valedictory function and prize distribution was held on 9th
April 2005. In this function Prof. A. K. Khare, Pro-Vice Chancellor,
U. P. Technical University, Lucknow was Chief Guest and Prof. S.
P. Singh Baghel, Honorable Member of Parliament was the Guest of
Honour
It is a matter of great pride that overall championship was won
by Anand Engineering College, Agra and Hindustan College of Science
& Technology was the runner up in this tournament.
Students are encouraged to participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
They are provided with good facilities for games and sports. We
have a full-time sports officer apart from the faculty to train
the students in the sports of their own choice. The members of the
staff guide the students in the activities such as debates, quizzes,
dance drama, education etc., help them in organizing and managing
their functions. Outdoor games such as cricket, football, basketball,
volleyball etc. and indoor games such as table tennis, carom, chess,
badminton and gymnasium etc. are available for the students and
faculty.
The students of AEC have always been wanting to niche out a place
for themselves to establish their identity. For the same, they have
made a college band in which students play Guitar, Congo, Mouthorgan,
Harmonium etc. This band has given its performances in IIT, Delhi,
CEREBRUM-2003 & CEREBRUM-2004. Apart from music, drawing &
painting competitions are the regular feature of Anand.
Library
The library is fully equipped to cater 1700 student's requirement
of 1700 students with total no. of 28,500 books and by the end of
the semester the figure will touch 30,000. They subscribe to 100
National & International Journals & Magazines every year.
Apart from the Main Library, departmental libraries are also maintained
by the concerned Heads of the Departments. Each department is having
books for ready reference to the faculty/research scholars. The
library is being upgraded on the lines of accreditation and standard
is being maintained accordingly.

Book Bank scheme is started for the B. Tech 1st year students and
