A good reason for this shortage is a lack of quality training institutes to generate clinical trials professionals fit for the industry's needs. Due to the shortage, the CROs directly recruit life science or pharma graduates, and put them under work, with miniscule training. The shortage will gradually affect the quality of the work done at the CROs, which might in turn affect their future contracts with the sponsors.
