The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) was established in 1945 by the government of India for the proper planning and coordinated development of the system of technical education throughout the country. Initially, established as an advisory body, it became a statutory body in 1987 through an act of parliament. It is vested with statutory authority for planning, formulation and maintenance of norms and standards, quality assurance through accreditation, funding in priority areas, monitoring and evaluation, maintaining parity of certification and awards and ensuring coordinated and integrated development and management of technical education.
The technical education programmes that are covered under the purview of the AICTE includes training and research in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Management, Pharmacy, Applied Arts and Crafts, Hotel Management and Catering Technology at different levels. The Council has set up a National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under Clause 10(u) of the AICTE Act, to periodically evaluate technical programmes on the basis of prescribed guidelines, norms and standards. The AICTE grants approval to new technical institutions and to new courses and programmes in consultation with the agencies concerned. The AICTE approved courses in India are in great demand because no institution can get an AICTE approval until and unless they maintain a good standard of education. Even for government jobs, you need a degree from an institution which has been approved by the AICTE. Private companies also seek students from AICTE approved institutions. All these factors lead students to go for Institutions that provides programs that have been approved by the AICTE. Out of thousands of institutions functioning with AICTE approved courses in India, the Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI) is one of the topmost pioneer educational groups that impart quality education.
The Sharda Group of Institutions was established in 1996 with a commitment to deliver quality education with a balanced approach to theoretical and experimental learning. It has a number of vibrant colleges that have established a tradition of excellence in research and education innovation by offering different professional courses, which are recognised by AICTE.
