A workshop was held on 6 th and 7 th April 2004 in the college campus. This workshop was organized under the aegis of the HRD Students Club of HIMCS. The focus of the workshop was on the personality testing and the main tool adopted was the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Test.

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Rekha Bharadwaj, Senior Manager and faculty Human Resource Development Institute of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) at Noida, and Dr. Naveen Gupta, Dean HIMCS.

There were Participants from industry as well as from academics. HRD executives of M/S Agra chains (P) Ltd., and sales executives of M/S Coca Cola (India) Ltd. represented industry while teachers and management and engineering students of RBS College, Agra, Seth Padam Chand Jain Institute of Management & Computer Studies, Farah, Hindustan College of Science & Technology, Farah, BMAS Engineering College and Anand Engineering College, Runkata, Agra, were the other participants.

Individual personality testing is considered an effective tool and the MBTI test is based on the personality theory of the 20 th -century Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. The MBTI maps an individual's personality preferences along following dimensions:-

•  Extraversion-Introversion

•  Sensing -Intuitive

•  Thinking -Feeling

•  Judging -Perceiving

It was seen that a person could be typed as "ESTJ" or "EIFP" or "ISFP" or various other combinations/permutations of the above Personality typing helps in identifying the various natural and behamonral traits of various persons in any group and thus can be a valuable starting point for managing change. An appreciation of the unique strengths associated with psychological type helps leaders set forth a vision of the well -rounded, multi-skilled organization that today's competitive environment requires.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. M. S. Teotia, Director, HIMCS, Col. C.K. Singh, President of Agra Chapter of National HRD Network was present on both days.
