• Q1: what nursing is all about?
  ANS: Nursing, a profession that recalls the name of Florence Nightingale is indeed one of the noblest professions in the world. It is the art of caring for sick people with the science of health care. It is a vital component of any form of medical care.

  The largest groups of workers in the health sector are those in the nursing occupations as nurses and nursing assistants. In a hospital from the general ward to the operating theater, nursing forms an integral part. This is one of the few domains of work that is almost totally dominated by women.
  This field is both mentally and physically demanding and nurses are often exposed to health risks from infectious diseases. As such this profession demands long hours of work and duties which incorporate both skill and understanding of patients needs. Those who come forward to take up this as a career has to be patient, courageous, have a service mentality and at the same time be ready to work for extra hours even night shifts. 
  

• Q2   Whether all Nursing programs can be in same campus?
  Ans.  Yes, we have a 63 acre of Campus with a 500 beds parent and attainted hospital and all the courses and students will reside and study in same campus.

• Q3 Will I get financial support?
  ANS: Yes Sharda University has a tie up with different national and private banks, where you await the apply for the loans.

• Q4. What is the difference between the Degree and Diploma?

  The academic entry criteria is higher for the Degree than for the Diploma. All students are taught together for a large part of the course; however degree students are required to attain a higher academic level throughout the course and would be assessed accordingly. Degree Nursing Education based and built on scientific principals in order to produce professional qualified Nursing who will be able to function as a team member in all health case agencies as role of practicing Nursing either in hospital or community based organization.

• Q5: Can I study the course part-time?
  ANS: Bsc Nursing is the 3 three year fulltime degree program, you cannot study it as a part time program from Sharda University.

• Q6 Is there a large job market for this industry?
  A: Yes, it is a continually expanding industry, especially due to a growing healthcare and NGO industry. student have an opportunity to go beyond India to serve the people.

• Q7 Will I have to relocate for a job?
  A: Willingness to relocate may provide you with more opportunities, but it is not necessary to gain employment.

• Q9.    What is the eligibility criterion for these courses?
  The eligibility criteria for graduate courses are mostly 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, from recognized Examination board. The minimum requirement of marks will be 45% in aggregate including English. The minimum age for admission 17 Years on or before 31st December at the year of admission & candidate shall be medically fit.
  

• Q10 what is the admission procedure?
  A Initially can take direct admission and interview. Admission is on the basis of a Online test followed by an interview.
  

• Q11 what are the career options for nursing students?
  ANS: Hospital Nursing: Hospital nurses form the largest group of nurses. Hospital nurses are usually assigned to any special area of work such as surgery, maternity, intensive care, pediatrics, obstetric, rehabilitative etc. 
  Public Health Nursing/ Community Health Nursing: Public health nurses / Health worker work in government and private clinics and health departments in urban and rural areas to provide basic medical services to the local population. They instruct individuals, families and other groups in health education, disease prevention, nutrition and child care. They arrange for immunizations, blood pressure testing and other health screening. 
  Military Nursing: Provide health care services in armed forces. 
  Educators: This field combines nursing with the teaching of students of nursing and administration and research of Educational Programmers. 
  Industrial nursing/ Occupational Health Nursing: They work under the direction of the industrial physicians and assist in taking preventive safety measures. They provide emergency care at the time of accidents taking place inside the industrial premises. 
  Psychiatric Nursing: This nursing involves working with patients suffering from emotional and psychological distress. Nursing these patients requires devotion and patience. They generally work in coordination with the psychiatrists, doctors and other specialists. 
  Pediatric Nursing: is concerned with the care of sick babies and children.
  
  Orthopedic Nursing: requires knowledge of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
  Community Nursing: The concept of community health gave birth to community health nursing that is Nurses from hospitals breaching out in to the community. This branch requires that community health nursing focus of Planning is Preventive & Promotive Services.
  Q12: What is remuneration of Nurses in India?
  ANS: Remuneration of nurses depends on the level of seniority reached. Nurses employed by government hospitals receive a monthly salary of Rs 6,500 to Rs 10,000. Those working for private hospitals or the military receive a slightly higher remuneration. Private nurses have a fixed daily fee. Midwives receive above 4,000 per month approximately, plus a fixed amount per birth registered. Health workers receive between Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 per month.
