Biotechnology is an emerging branch of today that relies on biology, mathematics, physics, chemistry and engineering. This engineering branch is a blend of many technologies applied together to living cells and their genetic configuration for the production of an intended product quality. Biotechnology is a technology that is based upon biology, agriculture, food science, and medicine. This technology is defined by United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity as follows,” Any technological application that uses biological systems, dead organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.”
Biotechnology is a set of methods and techniques that involves the usage of living organism i.e. cells, bacteria, yeast and others or their parts or products as tools for e.g. genes and enzymes. This technology is used in various fields such as food processing, agriculture pharmaceutics, medicine and others. In this field, one can also do specialization.
