SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a standardized test for college admissions that is owned, published and developed by the College Board. The College Board is a non-profitable organization in the United States. This exam is specially designed for measuring basic critical reading, maths and writing skills. Most of the renowned colleges and universities require SAT Score from its applicants. The organizer of this exam claims that the exam can determine whether a person is ready for college or not. The SAT Reasoning Test, formerly known as Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test, takes three hours and forty-five minutes of actual timed sections.
Exam Structure
SAT Exam basically contains three major sections i.e. Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing. Each section of this exam receives a score on the scale of 200 to 800. All the scores are multiples of ten. In this exam, the questions range from easy, medium and hard that depends on the score from the experimental sections. This exam is administered seven times every year and students, who are dissatisfied with their scores, can reappear in the exam. The three sections for SAT Exam are:-

Critical Reading: -The Critical reading section of SAT exam is made up of three scored sections i.e. two 25-minute sections and one 20-minute section that include sentence completions and questions about short and long reading passages. Sentence completions generally test the vocabulary and understanding of sentence structure. This section tests the ability of a student to understand what he has read quickly the text.

Mathematics:- The Mathematics section is also known as the Quantitative Section or Calculation Section. This section contains three scored sections. It is 70 minutes long section and also composed of both multiple choice questions and student-produced response questions. In the section, questions are basically related to numbers and operations, algebra, geometry and data analysis and others.

Writing:- The writing section of SAT Exam contains multiple choice questions and a brief essay. It includes error identification questions, sentence improvement questions and paragraph improvement questions. This section starts with 25 minutes essay and students have to express their positions on a provided passage and to support their opinions. And multiple choice section of this exam contains 49 questions to test the ability of a student for communicating ideas, identify grammatical errors and to improve sentences and paragraphs.
