Library
The library has more than 42,500 books, 110 journals and 380 audio
and video cassettes. He staff is qualified and trained to provide
efficient service to the students and the faculty. Addition to books
and periodicals is continuously made to ensure that there is a wide
selection of reference materials and textbooks to meet the needs

Hostel
1 junior hostel boys (capacity 400 students), 1 senior hostel for
boys (capacity 202) students and 1 girl's hostel (capacity 200 students),
with mess facilities, common rooms, STD/PCO and other recreational
facilities.
Sports & Games / Indoor Games
Sports activities are a regular feature of the college calendar
& campus life. The college has good facilities for 04 indoor
games viz Billiards, Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis and 07 outdoor
games like Cricket, Basketball, Football, Badminton, Lawn Tennis
and Volleyball. There is an experienced & qualified Physical
Education Director and a separate games / sports room, for co-ordination,
coaching & conduct of sports & games events.
For overall mental & physical fitness of the students special
YOGA & Meditation sessions are held in the morning & evening
sessions under the guidance of an expert YOGA Teacher. Separate
well equipped Gymnasiums for Boys & Girls also exist for the
same purpose and are enthusiastically availed by Boys & Girls
students.
Medical Facilities
The Institute provides Medical facilities in the campus. There
are two doctors and a full time qualified medical assistant to look
after routine health needs of the students and staff. One qualified
doctor visits the campus daily and the second visits weekly to look
after the health problems of the students and staff. If needed,
cases are referred to a nursing home in the city, for necessary
treatment. The college has an agreement with Kamayani Hospital,
a multi-speciality Hospital and Naval Kishore Hospital (both in
Agra city) for treating the students/staff in case of emergencies.
One Ambulance is always available for emergency purpose in the campus.
First-aid facilities are provided through a number of first-aid
boxes located in the various buildings and laboratory sheds.
Other facilities
Medical unit/dispensary, faculty flats, guest house, water treatment
plants, stationery shops, canteens and adequate facilities for sports
and games.
Communication & Transport
The college has 10 DOT telephone lines & 2 reliance wire less
phones and a 120 line EPABX for total telephone connectivity, a
separate "pay-phone" for the convenience of students and
staff, Boys & Girls separately also are available & a FAX
exists in the college. Further the college is adequately covered
by Mobile Service reach of Reliance, Airtel, BSNL, Ideas & Tata
Indicom. Almost 90% of the faculty & Senior staff and 60% of
the students have their personal mobile phone. The college being
located on the main National Highway between Agra-Mathura is serviced
by Inter City Bus Transport system adequately besides local three
wheeler Auto rickshaw & Tempos. In addition to the same several
route buses operate special services for students & connect
various parts of the city to our College, and the college has its
own fleet of four buses for providing transport facility, to students
and two buses exclusively for the faculty & staff members.
Edusat Linkage & Video Conferencing
Virtual Class Room facilities though satellite linkage under the
Edusat Scheme of Govt. of India exist in the college. This college
was the first to have installed the EDUSAT Linkage. Students' interactions
with renowned Faculties are possible through Video Conferencing
and the students can enhance their knowledge bases. The scheme is
supported with a 10 MBPS Radio Link for Video Conferencing.
CO-CURRICULAR & EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The Management and the administration of the college sincerely
believe that active participation by the students in co-curricular
and extra-curricular activities is essential for the wholesome development
of their personality and success in life. Students of Hindustan
College of Science & Technology have ample opportunities to
participate in these activities. The students have several clubs
such as Electronics Students Association (ESA), Mechanical Students
Association (MESA), Civil & Environmental Students Association
(CESA) & BYTE - fraternity of computer minded students which
provides them outlets for their technical creativities in developing
electronic gadgets, robotics, models, technical festivals
etc. Through annual cultural program, students get a chance
to demonstrate their creative, literary, musical, oratory and
artistic talents. Techno-Vision, a quarterly newsletter, offers
opportunity to students to show their creative talents and the college
publishes a bi-annual magazine. The college provides financial assistance
to talented students to participate and prove their worth in the
activities organized by various other reputed institutions. Facilities
in the college campus exists for 04 indoor and 09 outdoor games,
such as Cricket, Table Tennis, Badminton, Football, Basketball,
Volleyball, Gymnasium, Billiards etc. and our students regularly
participate in various sports competition at all India, State and
University levels and have won a number of tournament & medals.
A group of students under the leadership of a II Semester (Mech.)
student Mr. Rohit Verma have formed a club "Intellimac Solutions"
which is involved in the design and development of a sounding
rocket named "The Messiah" in collaboration with NASA
of U.S.A. The management has approved a grant of Rs. 1,00,000/-
(Rupees one lakh) to this group for the successful completion
of the project."
VALUE-ADDITION COURSES - AUGMENTATION FOR IMPROVING EMPLOYABILITY
The college is offering many Value Addition Programmes to bridge
the gap between the requirements of the Industry and the topics
covered in the university curriculum, with a view to improving student's
employability by making them "Industry Ready".
The college offers "Value-addition" courses at a nominal
cost in CAD/CAM (Pro-Engineer / Auto CAD) for the Mechanical &
Production Engineering students, CTS for Civil Engineers. Further,
to give 'hands-on' experience to the students of ECE, IT and CSE
in the area of Computer Networking, networking certification courses
of CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate) as a value-addition
course & students are encouraged to acquire the vendor certification.
Course on Programmable Logic Control (PLC) /SCADA & Alied Lab
is conducted in association with Prolific Systems & Technologies
Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai an associate of Shneider Electric, France to enhance
industrial automation capabilities of the E&I students and faculty.
Several of our students are sent to Quick Logic Controls & Tata
Honey Well, Pune for Similar Training & have already had training
on industrial automation using PLCs and got placement offers. 6
weeks summer training course with theory covered in class room and
practical followed in industries in collaboration with The Inure
Technologies & Vedant, Lucknow on VLSI design is also organized.
In alliance with C-DAC, Mohali students training on Telecom Technology;
Digital Signal Processing; Microcontroller etc. In alliance with
reputed training institutions like CMC Ltd. (TATA Group); HandsOn
Technology (Gurgaon based U.S. Trainers); NIIT, Appin Knowledge
Solution, New Delhi latest in Embedded Systems, Software Technologies;
.NET & J2EE; Robotics & Automatic Control, Networking Security
& Ethical hacking & Several other training / courses are
organized.
Besides the above, the Training and Placement department of HCST
has conducted several unique programs on Personality Development
and Career Awareness by its own highly competent team of industry
trained professionals. HCST has a full time professional Corporate
Trainer Cell to conduct Personality & Life skills Development
& communication sessions. We also conduct Aptitude Tests, communication
tests, mock interviews and group discussion sessions for the benefit
of students, to prepare them to face the actual Job evaluation with
full confidence & composure.
Further, to give 'hands-on' experience to the students of ECE,
IT and CSE in the area of data bases, an excellent Laboratory is
being set up in the CSE department at a cost of over Rs.20.00 lakhs,
in alliance with Oracle India P. Ltd. A 'CISCO Local Academy' has
also been similarly established. More vendor - certifications are
planned. For providing live project training, DUCAT's training wing
is also in our alliance & for IBM-Mainframe training - Mantec
Central team provide training through direct linkage through the
internet to their Mainframe Computer.
